Oman Insurance Company strikes a unique triple win at the Middle East Insurance Industry Awards 2017 (MIIA) recently hosted in Dubai. Fifteen winners were honoured at the awards ceremony and Oman Insurance Company enjoyed the unique distinction of winning three of these - General Insurance Company of the Year, Health Insurance Company of the Year and Educational & Training Initiative of the Year.

Winning the General Insurance category is a reflection of the successful delivery of a wide range of insurance solutions for both individual and commercial clients. Whether it is comprehensive car insurance, convenient pre-underwritten packaged insurance plans for SMEs or complex tailor-made plans for large corporates, the breadth of capabilities and high capacities ensures suitable solutions for every requirement. The company has delivered innovative protection solutions like the pilotless aerial vehicle aircraft covers this year. Additionally, significant digital advancements were made with the launch of online customer surveys and the delivery of an eCommerce platform, making motor insurance easily available to customers over their smartphones.

The company’s win within Health Insurance category comes as a result of key initiatives undertaken in 2017, to make the customer experience easier and hassle-free. The launch this year of the Emirates ID initiative, the OICare App for online reimbursement and medical network search, customer surveys and allowed effective engagement with healthcare members and smoother service delivery. Furthermore our unique LivFit wellness program launched this year encouraged our members to take charge of their wellness with the help of key program features like free online health risk assessments, medical screenings, information about various health risks, free yoga sessions, and much more - inspiring and enabling them to switch to a healthier lifestyle.

The Education & Training win stems from the key delivery of the unique Oman Insurance Academy that addresses the challenges of talent requisition and retention in this market. The in-house Academy sponsors employees through a range of certifications like the CII (UK) and LOMA (USA) courses, while also hosting various leadership trainings, as well as workshops to address market trends and challenges. An e-learning platform within the organization also ensures that learning is easily accessible to all employees at any time.

Taking pride in these achievements Oman Insurance Company’s CEO, Christos Adamantiadis states, “This triple recognition by the Middle East Insurance Industry Awards is a tremendous testimony to our accomplishments and the dedication of our team. We are proud that we continue to set new business standards for the regional industry and deliver superior insurance services as we embrace the challenges faced by the economy, disruptive technology and demanding customers.”
